NH0500 0.5mm Needle Hydrophone,Acoustic Pressure Measurement 1MHz-20MHz Details:
NH0500 0.5mm Needle Hydrophone Product Overview
The NH0500 0.5mm Needle Hydrophone is developed by professional acoustic manufacturer, adopting PVDF (Polyvinylidene Fluoride) piezoelectric transduction technology. It forms a complete measurement system with submersible preamplifier and DC coupler.
Compliant with IEC 62127-3 standard, its working frequency ranges from 0.1MHz to 20MHz. As a general-purpose ultrasonic hydrophone, it balances sensitivity, directivity and spatial averaging performance, and can accurately measure acoustic signals as low as 200 Pa.
Lightweight (only 1.34g) and compact structure, it can be fully immersed in water for long-term operation. Widely used in medical ultrasonic equipment calibration, ultrasonic field testing, laboratory acoustic research and industrial ultrasonic measurement.
Product feature:
- 1.Wide Frequency Response
Frequency range: 0.1MHz~20MHz, excellent performance at 1MHz~20MHz, ideal for most ultrasonic testing and field calibration.
- 2.High Sensitivity & Low Noise
Average sensitivity 300 mV/MPa (2MHz~12MHz). Low noise floor, capable of detecting weak acoustic signal down to 200 Pa.
- 3.Standard Compliance & Reliable Data
Designed and calibrated per IEC 62127-3. Controlled measurement uncertainty, stable and credible test data.
- 4.Premium Material & High Durability
Adopts PVDF sensor. Resistant to water pressure and corrosion. Operating temperature: 5℃~50℃, suitable for lab & industrial use.
- 5.Lightweight & Easy Installation
Net weight: 1.34g, output impedance 50 Ω. Works perfectly with matched preamplifier, easy to assemble and debug.

Operation & Environmental Notes
- 1.Installation Direction: Keep the needle tip facing directly to the acoustic source during operation.
- 2.Water Immersion: Fully submersible, withstand hydrostatic pressure up to 2m water depth. Clean the probe regularly if used in tap water to avoid scale deposit.
- 3.Liquid Medium: Do NOT use in concentrated acid, alkali or strong organic solvents, which will cause corrosion.
- 4.Calibration Recommendation: Full calibration every 12 months; monthly sensitivity check with reference source.
- 5.Temperature Warning: Max ambient temperature: 60℃ (irreversible damage if exceeded). Sensitivity increases by 0.6% per 1℃ temperature rise.
FAQ
- What accessories are required?
It needs to be used with submersible preamplifier and DC coupler power supply as a complete system.
- What is the maximum safe acoustic pressure?
Safe operating limit: 10 MPa. Amplifier nonlinearity occurs above 2.33 MPa.
- Can it be immersed in tap water for a long time?
Short-term use is acceptable. Long-term immersion will cause scale and reduce sensitivity. Deionized water is recommended.
- How often should calibration be done?
Full calibration every 12 months, and monthly routine sensitivity inspection.
