Precautions for Puncture Procedures
Needle Gauge:
It is recommended to use a 21G or finer puncture needle. The thicker the needle, the more rapidly it damages the model's internal structures; even with self-healing materials, frequent use of coarse needles will result in visible needle tracks.
Avoid Air Injection:
When practicing injections or aspirations, ensure that all air is completely expelled from the syringe. If air is injected into the model, it will create severe acoustic shadowing (dark artifacts) on the ultrasound image, obscuring subsequent observations, and the trapped air is extremely difficult to remove.
Do Not Use Damaged Needles:
If a needle has a burr (typically caused by accidental contact with a hard object), replace it immediately; otherwise, withdrawing the needle will tear the internal material of the model.
