KS107BD(LL) ultrasonic phantom is suitable for the detection of basic image parameters of ultrasonic diagnostic instruments and is applicable to low-frequency B-ultrasound instruments below 4MHz. It is an extension of the KS107BD model in depth direction, and the detection depth is increased from 190mm of the BD model to 300mm. The detection items include blind area, detection depth, axial (longitudinal) and lateral (transverse) resolution, longitudinal and transverse geometric errors, and can examine the imaging of typical lesions such as cysts, tumors, and stones.

Technical parameters:

1. TM material sound velocity: 1540±10m/s (23±3℃)
 
2. TM material sound attenuation coefficient slope: 0.70±0.05dB/cm/MHz (23±3℃)
 
3. Nylon target wire diameter: 0.3±0.05mm
 
4. Nylon target wire position tolerance: ±0.1mm

Eight groups of nylon wire targets are embedded in the TM material. They include:

(1) A1─A7: axial lateral resolution target group. Its lateral branches are 30, 50, 70, 120, 160, 200 and 250mm away from the sound window respectively. The horizontal distances between the centers of two adjacent target wires in groups A1 and A2 are 1, 5, 4, 3, 2mm respectively, and in groups A3─A5 they are 5, 4, 3, 2mm respectively, in A6 they are 7, 6, 5, 4 mm, and in A7 they are 8, 7, 6, 5 mm. The vertical distances between the centers of two adjacent target lines in the longitudinal branch are 4, 3, 2, and 1 mm, respectively.
 
(2) B: Blind target group. The horizontal spacing between the centers of adjacent target lines is 10 mm, and the distances to the acoustic window are 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, and 3 mm, respectively.
 
(3) C: Longitudinal target group. A total of 30 target lines are included, and the center distance between two adjacent lines is 10 mm.
 
(4) D: Horizontal target group, a total of 7 target lines, and the center distance between two adjacent lines is 20 mm.
 

Simulated lesions

a) Tumor simulation, located between 70-80 mm in depth, cylindrical, 10 mm in diameter, with the axis parallel to the target line.
 
b) Simulated cyst and stone, the simulated cyst is cylindrical, 10 mm in diameter, located between 70-80 mm in depth, and the axis is parallel to the target line. The simulated stone is irregular in shape, located in the middle of the cyst, with a maximum size of about 4-6 mm.
The capsule structure is cylindrical with a diameter of 6 mm. The axis of the cylinder is parallel to the target line and is located between the depth of 47 and 53 mm.

​KS107BD(LL) ultrasonic phantom corresponds to the requirements of China's current national standards GB10152─2009, YY0767-2009 and metrological verification procedures JJG639─2005 and JJF1438-2013. The acoustic parameters of the phantom have been tested by the Acoustic Metrology Test Station of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, which is accredited by the National Certification and Accreditation Administration, and can be accompanied by the metrological test certificate of the station.
